Malagon
My food buddy Wes Sellew called to tell me to add Malagon to my list. The new tapas restaurant on Spring St had wowed him. Then Hannah Raskin got banned from coming and my interest was piqued.
Before a recent Spoleto event I met a friend there for an early lunch. It was wonderful. The small, cozy space was adorned with gourmet Spanish food stuff for sale that gave an interesting atmosphere. The attractive, attentive waiter helped us make the perfect choices. We had almond stuffed dates, spiced olives, octopus and croquettes. The plates were presented randomly as they were prepared which made for a great tasting experience. The quantities were substantial and the 2 of us could not finish everything. The wine list was extensive and interesting. The building is located close to the intersection of King and Spring. Parking is a bit tight but the effort is worth it.
