Hotel Recommendations
Whether you're coming to town to house-hunt or just looking to explore Charleston's charm, we can help you find the right place to stay.
If you're looking to stay downtown Charleston, we like Emeline (right near the City Market with a coffee shop inside the hotel) and Hotel Bella Grace on Calhoun Street. For something more mainstream, there’s a Courtyard by Marriott on Calhoun that has reasonable rates. AirBnB and VRBO have options as here, but hotels are more popular in the historic district where the short term rental rules are more strict.
You can't go wrong staying in Mount Pleasant, which has lots of good hotels and is closer to the beaches at Isle of Palms and Sullivans Island. I like Hotel Indigo and the Holiday Inn Express on Johnnie Dodds and the Doubletree by Hilton on Bowman Road. The Charleston Harbor resort has a water view, but if you want to be beachfront, you'll need to check out Carolina One's vacation rentals.
If you're looking to splurge, the most luxurious hotels are Hotel Bennett and The Charleston Place both downtown in the historic district.
Once you book your hotel you'll want to go ahead and book some dining reservations. We love to eat and have TONS of restaurant reviews to share!
