East of the Cooper

The Charleston area attracts newcomers everyday – industry is booming, development is in full swing, and yet the adored Charleston lifestyle has remained much the same.  Charleston is made up of a collection of enclaves that offer something for everyone. Here is an overview of our areas:

Mt. Pleasant

In two words: suburban, booming. Mount Pleasant is the place to find community.   The picturesque town on the water provides a true neighborhood feel just minutes from the city of Charleston. The southern end of Mt. Pleasant, anchored by the Old Village, offers larger lots and established homes.  North Mt. Pleasant, past the Isle of Palms Connector, has been more recently developed offering modern floorplans and neighborhoods with amenities.Mt. Pleasant epitomizes the Lowcounty lifestyle: minutes to downtown and the beach, scenic hide-a-ways, and life on the water.  Check out the Blessing of the Fleet in the spring where the shrimp boats parade by.

Love all that Mt. Pleasant has to offer but looking to live in a quieter area?  Head a few minutes north on Highways 17 to Awendaw and McClellenville or north on Highway 41 to the Wando Cainhoy areas.

Daniel Island

In two words: golf carts. This 4,000-acre island developed in the late 1990’s has a growing collection of amenities to offer all the essential components of a walkable community. Residents can get to shops, restaurants, schools, library, world class stadiums – all without leaving the island… and by golf cart! Catch the Family Circle Cup and Southern Ground Music festival here.

Isle of Palms

In two words: beach, vacation. This barrier island runs along the north side of Mt. Pleasantand offers residents and visitors beautiful beaches, a county park with pier, and marina site perfect for boating and water sports. While the Isle of Palms is a fabulous place to play, the overall quality of life, sense of community, proximity to Mt. Pleasant, and endless activity make Isle of Palms the beach destination you have always wanted to call home.  Best place to watch 4th of July fireworks.

Wild Dunes

In two words: gated, resort. Wild Dunesis a private, gated resort community within a natural island habitat on the northern end of Isle of Palms. Surrounded by unspoiled beaches, Fazio-designed golf courses and top-rated tennis facilities, Wild Dunes is the ideal place for a primary or vacation home. Wild Dunes offers luxury condominiums, tranquil villas, and waterfront homes.

Sullivans Island

In two words: quaint, character. Nestled at the mouth of the Charleston Harbor and neighbor to the Isle of Palms, Sullivan’s Island is an inviting mix of wide beaches, history, local restaurants and shops, and relaxation. At just 3.3 miles, what Sullivan’s Island lacks in sheer size, it more than makes up for in beauty and charm. Conveniently located to Mt. Pleasant and downtown Charleston, Sullivan’s Island is the perfect island get-a-way with all of the convenience of living in town. Check out the Polar Bear swim on New Years day.
